Local workshops constitute the learning spaces in which the various shared methodologies find their first application. Within the groups, which are necessarily open and inclusive contexts, the aim is to create an atmosphere of trust and mutual esteem. Here it is possible to open up and share. To recognise each other’s affinities. And be curious about differences. The French, German and Italian participants will be trained on how to improve reading and verbal skills for public speaking, get control of their body communication and experiment with creative writing; the workshops will encourage use of both the language of their respective hosting country and the learners’s native languages, eliminating from the beginning any idea of linguistic hierarchy in favour of a horizontal, multilingual expressive fabric. Every language counts, and every voice is made up of several languages. Each local group will produce short multilingual texts. Translations will be made by the participants themselves, with the help of the experts. Body images will be created to accompany the texts, also helping visualisation and imagination. Theatre, like other community practices linked to philosophy and the arts, offers platforms to build strong counter-narratives promoting a more accurate perception of contemporary reality.
